Analyst's Report.

To the Vestey of St. James and St. John,
Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you a report upon the
samples submitted to me for analysis, under the Sale of Food
and Drugs Act, during the year ending 31st March, 1897.
The total number of samples of food and drugs examined during this period was 311, a larger number than in any previous year. In the six preceding years the totals were as follows:—

During the past year Inspector W. J. Bartlett has submitted
