POPULATION OF CHELSEA.
The estimated population of Chelsea for the year 1898 is 96,826. The estimated population of each sub-district is as follows :—

BIRTHS AND BIRTH-RATE FOR 1898.
Table I. gives the births and birth-rate per 1,000 per annum in the homo district and in Kensal Town, in the whole parish, and in London.

In 1897 the birth-rate of the home district was 25.3, and of Kensal
Town 30.4, the birth-rate of the whole parish being 26.4.
The progressive lowering of the birth-rate of recent years, both in
the home district and in Kensal Town, is shown in the next Table.
