falling-off of 117; in deaths from measles a falling-off of
1,732; and in influenza a falling-off of 738. While, on the
other hand, in deaths from small-pox there was an increase
of 165; in deaths from fever (mostly typhoid or enteric)
an increase of 252, in deaths from scarlet fever an increase
of 422; and in deaths from diphtheria an increase of 1380.
