Workshops, factories and laundries have received constant
supervision, with the object of preventing overcrowding, and
enforcing cleanliness, limewashing, ventilation and sanitary accommodation
for the different sexes.
Table No. 11 gives the Meteorological Statistics for London
for the year 1897.
The Sanitary Sub-Committee by their constant and regular
attendance at the meetings continue to take the deepest interest
in all matters concerning the health of the district, and I am
greatly indebted to them for the support they always-accord me.
I desire to express my entire satisfaction of the zeal and
energy with which the Sanitary Inspectors have discharged their
duties during the year.
I have the honour to remain, gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
HENRY WILLIAM ROBERTS,
Medical Officer of Health, Deptford.
