Following the first 2 annual reports (January and December 1866), the Northern Counties' Asylum for Idiots and Imbeciles was called the Royal Albert Asylum

D. de Vitré, chairman) including reports of the Commissioners in Lunacy (Greville Howard, James Wilkes, W. G. Campbell, Robert Nairne), the report of the medical superintendent (G. E. Shuttleworth), the auditors' report (David Davis, William G. Welch), financial and statistical statements, a list of clergymen and ministers, presents received, census of idiots and imbeciles, a summary of contributions (James Diggens) and an illustration of the asylum.
