A concertina which I didn't like because of the noise. The "ribs" at school which I couldn't climb, where we hung upside down. A ladder of prayer -- I don't want to die, I don't want to suffer. M.H. Bishop March 1966 The subject, the name of the artist and the date are inscribed by Edward Adamson on the verso Lettering between the rungs of the right hand ladder: Faith ; Hope ; Purity ; but no Love.
