Description

This was prepared by John Thurnam, and authorised to be printed by The Retreat Committee. With preface by Samuel Tuke. Thurnm was Resident Surgeon from 1839 onwards, becoming the Retreat's first Medical Superintendent in 1846 (a post required by law after the 1845 Lunatics Act), until 1849
