About this work

Description

This short history of the Retreat was designed as a sequel to A Retired Habitation by H.C. Hunt (RET 1/6/1/10), and it covers mainly the period 1932-1966. Dr Garrod was a Retreat Governor and the daughter of Dr Bedford Pierce, the Retreat Medical Superintendent 1892-1922. J. Arthur Taylor was the Secretary of the Retreat 1947-1967. The work contains a preface by Marjorie Garrod, October 1966
