These are Bills and Invoices dealt with by the Steward. They are in two series: one covers provisions, and the other covers other general items eg clothing, equipment etc, and includes items bought for individual patients. Much detail about items purchased and the range of shops tradesmen and suppliers which were patronised by the Retreat, in York and elsewhere, can be gleaned from them.
