Description

Arranged in sections under name of person. Covers Retreat officers, nurses, and attendants, including probationers, and servants in all capacities. Dates of entry into Retreat service are given. Entries for some staff appear together at back of volume. Entries include stamps over which signatures of staff appear. Wages are quarterly for some staff; monthly for others At front of volume are printed papers on the training of nurses at the Retreat, as follows Information concerning the Training of Mental Nurses at the Retreat, York, giving regulations and particulars of instruction, also details of three year probationers, certificated nurses from general hospitals, and the Retreat Trained Nurses' Institution (January 1909) (this is stuck into volume) Memorandum respecting the Training of Mental Nurses at the Retreat, York (1911), with content as above. Paper loose in volume (2 copies) Memorandum respecting the Training of Male Nurses at the Retreat, York (1913), giving regulations and particulars of instruction, also details of certificates and the Retreat Male Nurses' Department. Paper loose in volume. Also loose in volume is a certificate for receipt of wages; rough notes on salaries, and tabulated list of staff, dates of entry, age at entry, present salary, extra allowances, duties, special qualifications (eg 'cricketer, 'singer', 'hockey'), also list of sister's salaries at Throxenby Hall Marked 'Quarterly Wages' on spine
