Inside, book is filled with many recipes and remedies. Loose within the volume are 5 items, all poems by A.J., including ‘Thoughts on insanity by an inmate of the Retreat, Tues 6 June 1880' Patient no. 1394, in Retreat 1879-1880. Age 34 on admission, non-Quaker, married, chemist, from Scarborough. Acute melancholia.
