About this work

Description

Large coloured plan, mounted on board. This plan shows the locations of trees in the Retreat grounds and shows in great detail the layout of the grounds and gardens at this date. The gardens are divided into Divisions 1-10. Division 1 is the Front Garden Division 2 is the Ladies Terrace Division 3 is the Kitchen Garden Division 4 is the West Side Plantation Division 5 is the South Side Plantation Division 6 is the Cricket Field Division 7 is the Rockery and Cemetery Division 8 is the East Field Division 9 is the North East Boundary and Courtyards Division 10 is Lodge Field. Trees are shown as circles and are numbered.
