About this work

Description

These are the accounts for patients' board and expenses sent out for payment by those responsible for their fees This is a re-used volume. It had previously been used 30 June 1840 - 31 March 1842 as a Journal for Patients' Disbursements, ie a follow on volume to the Patients' Journal 1823-1840, RET 3/2/5/3. It also seems to have run in parallel with RET 3/10/1/6 which was used as a Patients' Accounts Book 1829-1842 When the volume was re-used, the pages after the disbursements entries were cut into an index of names, covering the remainder of the volume. Entries of Patients' Accounts from 1850 onwards are in sections under name of patient, recording quarterly, half yearly or yearly date of account, amount of account, and folio number of Patients' Ledger Volume marked 'Amounts of Patients' Accounts sent to Correspondents' on front; replacing title 'Patients' Disbursements'. Numbered 'A45' on spine
