Two pictures, one on either side: View of Crichton Royal Institution Medium: Watercolour Size: 20.7 x 28.4 Inscription reads, ' ''I know that you are always interested in the production of any patient and I beg to enclose for the use of some of your wards a sketch made by one of my gentleman of your Institution taken from a woodcut in a Number of the Saturday Magazine.'' Extract letter Dr Dickson: Cheadle, Chesire, 1 June 1854', 'Crichton Lunatic Asylum'. Copy of a woodcut print which appeared in The Saturday Magazine in 1839 at the opening of Crichton Royal Institution. On the reverse: Sketch of a Ruined Castle Medium: Watercolour Size: 20.7 x 28.4
