Notes

First published as 'Oracular communications ... By Aesculapius', 1816
Attribution to Potts by Halkett & Laing, etc. derives from inscription in British Library copy of 1816 ed. 'Mr. Joseph Birch Junr. from his sincere friend L.H. Potts.' This inference seems tenuous: Potts had studied at St. George's rather than Guy's or St. Thomas's and at this date he was in practice in Cornwall.
Copy 1 Note: Inserted at front of vol. is a folding table 'The hospital student's daily monitor', evidently printed after 1820 but perhaps issued with this work.
