Trial in the Court of General Sessions, Nov. 10-13, 1818. The verdict was "not guilty."
"The defendant was the editor of ... the Republican chronicle and city advertiser, in which, on the 19th and 23d of September ... [1818] two publications had been made which were, by the indictment, considered libellous in regard to the managers and other persons concerned in the drawing of the 5th class of the Medical Science Lottery."
