"The first part ... is nearly a copy of ... 'The villager's friend and physician,' and is from the pen of ... Mr. James Parkinson, of London. The second part [p. [73]-108] ... chiefly ... consist[s] of a selection of short extracts from some other late ... publications on the means of preserving health and prolonging life; also of some observations and remarks ... to reinforce the precepts ... in the first part." - "Advertisement" (unsigned) dated "Philad. County, April, 1803."
Parkinson's work was published in London in 1800. The second part (here first published?) is fictionally addressed to his friends by the same country physician
