About this work

Description

Proof copy of Inquiries into Human Faculty and its Development by Francis Galton. The gatherings are loosely bound into the hardback cover from a copy of Proceedings of the Royal Geographical Society. Heavily annotated by Galton with corrections and additions; however, these amendments do not appear in the published work or subsequent additions. Stamped throughout by R & R Clark, printers, showing that this book was printed in stages between 14 December 1882 and 20 February 1883. Includes three black and white plates and one double-page colour lithograph, which was used by Karl Pearson for his book The Life, Letters and Labours of Francis Galton, vol. II, 1924.
