About this work

Description

Medical/cookery recipe book, with recipes written by Lady Pulston, pp.45-74. Some pages appear to be missing; the first page of the MSS is numbered page 45. Pages 57-62 are torn from the top left to bottom right corner, rendering some text illegible. A number of the recipes include the notation "proved". Includes recipes from other individuals, commonly Lady Parsons. Examples of medical recipes: "for the bileing of a snake or any venemous thing: Lady Parsons"; "for the toothach"; "the plague water: Lady Parsons"; "to kill dead flesh"; "an excellent scarcloth: Lady Heath"; "for the scurvey".
