The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "The Walt Disney character Goofy walking along the sea front on the south coast of England, attended by sailor-boy Donald Ducks. His "gay" features include a cigarette holder, panama hat, bow tie and waistcoat. Webster's dictionary defined the term 'gay dog ' as 'A man given to licentious self-indulgence'".
