Comprises a notebook containing a draft and two typescript drafts, a galley proof and a copy of New Biology, vol. 31, 1960, containing Penrose's "Developments in the theory of self-replication", 1959. Also contains correspondence regarding corrections to the draft, permissions to reproduce figures, possible translation into Italian, and a review of the paper.
