Photograph of the Penrose family, showing James Doyle Penrose, his wife Elizabeth Josephine (nee Peckover), sons Roland Algernon Penrose and Lionel Sharples Penrose. Two other young men are likely to be the eldest and youngest sons of James Doyle Penrose (Alexander and Bernard). Also includes an unidentified young woman and a child in the centre of the group.
