About this work

Description

Kogel was Dean of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and in his intitial letter he confirmed the offer to Pontecorvo of the position of Chairman of the new Department of Genetics. Pontecorvo's ideas on the function and composition of this new department. Pontecorvo was keen to accept this position once his usual salary, pension, and accommodation requirements had been agreed. Some of Pontecorvo's letters are draft handwritten copies.
