About this work

Description

Pontecorvo also writes about his study into diploids and vegetative recombination using Aspergillus nidulans, Aspergillus niger and Penicillium chrysogenum, and how this study has "now confirmed the existence of what I have called "para-sexual" cycle".

Bundle also contains brief correspondence between Pontecorvo and the editor ofScientific Monthlywho asked Pontecorvo for his comments on an article by Dr Harry E Wheeler on the Genetics of Homothallic Fungi. Draft of Pontecorvo's response statement is also included.
