Biographical note

In 1980, Mourant attended an International Workshop at Indian Wells, California, 17-19 Mar. During the planning of this workshop, Mourant decided to arrange a lecture tour of America and Canada. On 21 Mar 1980 Mourant gave a lecture at the University of Washington, Seattle, This was followed by a short visit to Toronto, where he lectured at the Toronto General Hospital, 24 Mar and the Canadian Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service, 25 Mar., He also met with Dr Perrault, National Director of the Canadian Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service, to discuss plans for a blood group survey of Channel Islanders. He then went on to give a lecture at Memorial University, St. John's, Newfoundland, 27 Mar 1980.
