About this work

Description

This series of correspondence deals with the disposal of Crick's scientific papers (with the exception of file PP/CRI/J/12/1/7 on his wishes for his purely personal papers). Crick entered into negotiations with the Norman Archive for the History of Molecular Biology, the University of California, San Diego, and the Wellcome Trust (although negotiations with the latter are scarcely covered in the correspondence).

Several files relate to Crick's attempts to trace documents which had been consulted by Robert Olby and Horace Judson for their books The Path to the Double Helix: The Discovery of DNA (1974) (Olby) and The Eighth Day of Creation: Makers of the Revolution in Biology (1979) (Judson). Olby subsequently consulted further material while researching his 2010 biography of Crick.
