Description

Pharmacist's recipe book, c.1835-1840 Contains recipes for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and household preparations, such as 'Pilul Antibil' (f.35v), 'Cold Cream' (f.13,) Violet Toothpowder (f.29v) and 'Black Varnish' (f.31v) Ff.55-56 contain recipes for veterinary preparations, such as 'Cleansing Drink for Cows' (f.56). Many of the recipes were obtained from other sources, and some contain reports on how effective they are, such as 'For Corns' (f.43v).

1 volume Volume: 10.5cm x 17 cm. Tight binding: text very close to binding. Paper, with original leather binding. 56ff. The bottom two thirds of f.54 have been torn out.
