About this work

Description

Ricoreto da me et rinovato avendo levato moltisime sporchizie, dove si trova duetavol, una de secreti, e l'altra delli autori 1800. Questo e di Girolamo Genesini. There are 84 coloured and four uncoloured pictures of plants of medical use, in water-colour, mostly of a formal and crude design following the early printed Herbals. The original text seems to have been written by different hands, an entry by one of the later of these on fol. 111 being dated 1555. Another entry by one of the supplementary writers on fol. 106v is dated 1732, and some other additions seem even later. The indices were presumably the work of Genesini. The first and last plant illustrations have been pasted down, and are not included in the numbered foliation.
