About this work

Description

Note-book containing receipts for alchemical and chemical processes, medical prescriptions, etc. In German and Latin: with additions by several hands. A few small roughly executed pen-drawings of alchemical apparatus, etc. The name of Kann appears on fol. 3v, 19v, 21, 31 and 32v. On fol. 148 is the signature of 'Ludwig Fischart' of Brunswick, dated 1646, by a later hand than that of the rest of the MS.

Physical description

1 volume 153 [164] ll. 16mo. 91/2 X 91/2 cm. On vellum, brown velvet binding over wooden boards. The original foliation is irregular, but ff. 44, 56, 63, 66, 68, 69, 87, 88, 99, 143, 144 of the old numbering are wanting. Margins slightly cropped in binding.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
