About this work

Description

In-letters, with carbon copies of Crick's replies attached in most cases (for a chronological series of out-letters see PP/CRI/J.2).

The sequence is divided into sections each spanning two or three years. Within each section, the correspondence is arranged alphabetically by name of correspondent (usually by personal name but occasionally by institution name).

Subjects include: requests for articles and interviews; requests for Crick's comments on publications by others; invitations to join institutions or accept honours; comments from scientific colleagues and members of the public on Crick's work; requests from students for help with their training; requests for help with medical problems; requests from universities, museums and archives for Crick's papers and models; requests for autographs or references.

Several files include reprints of articles without accompanying correspondence. These are filed under the author's name.
