About this work

Description

Traicté en général de plusieurs compositions veüe par expérience bonne en diverses maladies tant interne qu'externe. The writer has signed his name on both fly-leaves, and at the end of the text on p. 309, where it comes at the end of a receipt for the rent of his house in the Rue St. Jacques (Paris?): this is dated 26 January, 1700. The 34 pp. noted in the collation, is a pagination starting from the other end of the volume. It is entirely by the hand of J. de Franssières, and contains miscellaneous receipts, one of which on p. 25 is signed by him, and dated 28 February, 1695. The later group of receipts (26 ll.) seems to have been written c. 1750 as is shown by a reference on the 19th leaf to 'Le poudre et les pillules de Mdlle. Stephens (i.e. Joanna Stevens [ -1774]).
