Livre de recettes contre les maladies des chevaux: with additional receipts by a later 17th cent. hand, etc. On the first leaf: 'Ce present livre est a moy leaunar richard' and below 'LE AV NAR'. The last section is headed in capital letters: 'Leszacament [sic] Quil F Avlt Ferre A Vn Companon Qant Il Se Vevlt Passer Maistre De Loffice De Marich Avt A Tovlouze 1608' This is in the form of Question and Answer. At the end 'Fin de leszaman [sic] de toulouze 1608 escrit par darnol estant a paris 1608'. On the first fly-leaf autograph of V. De Savary [19th cent.].

1 volume 88 ff. + 13 ll. + 17 bl. ll. + 7ll. (last bl.). 4to. 191/2 x 131/2 cm. Vellum binding, with leather ties, from part of a 17th cent. legal document. The foliation of the first section is irregular but ff. 5, 10, 14, 16, 40, 63, 64, 67, 76, 79 and 83 appear to be missing: there are also some leaves torn out at the end.
