Ireland, Thomas (1723- )

Collection of household, medical and cookery receipts. At the end a poem 'A dream or vision'. Compiler's holograph MS. On the first leaf is a list of members of the Ireland family from 1691: the latest date is 1780. The receipts are dated between 1765 and 1769, and an entry of a payment on the last leaf is dated 1780. The poem which is of 247 lines, begins 'In the cool ev'ning of a summers day': it is apparently unfinished, and the title is 'A dream or vision' as written on the outside of the lower cover.

The signature of T. Ireland, by the compiler of this MS. is perhaps that of the Thomas Ireland born 6th of July 1723 as stated on the first leaf.
