Collection of medical and cookery receipts.

Inscribed inside the upper cover: 'Bridgett Parker october the 20th 1663'.

Beginning at the second leaf, starting from the other end of the volume, and written on the rectos only, are 3 pages of rhymed couplets (28 lines) by a different but probably contemporary hand. Beginning: "Pray pardon us that wee so late With lazy sighs bemoane thy fate" Ending: "Doe not deare soule this sacrifice refuse That in thy grave I doe interre my muse." [From the funeral elegy 'Obsequies to the Lord Harrington' by John Donne (1572-1631)].
