Description
Collected by W S Walton towards his Centenary History of the Society, 1956. The original files have been weeded of duplicates, rough notes, article extracts, routine correspondence and drafts. A number of photographs on the history of public health, deriving from the Wellcome Historical Museum, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and other places, which were originally filed with Walton's papers and listed as 'SMOH/H2' in Margaret Pelling's Handlist of Public Health Records, 1985, are now missing.
The lists in M.9/1-2 do not cover all Branches or Groups.
