China Publications Fund

After an approach in 1907 from Philip Cousland of the China Medical Missionary Association, HSW donated £500 towards the Association's programme to publish translated medical texts in China. In 1910 The Henry S Wellcome Fund was established with £1000, as a perpetual fund to which any proceeds from sales were to be added. HSW had to approve the choice of texts for publication. In 1921 the Fund was handed over to the control of the Association. These files concern the establishment and ongoing administration of the Fund, with drafts of and signed Deeds and agreements, as well as reports from the Association on its publishing activities.
