Receipt-Book, Veterinary: 18th century French

Collection of veterinary receipts: in French. Mainly written by two hands. Inserted loose are 7 ll. containing fragments of a late 17th cent. work on veterinary medicine.

mid-18th century

1 volume 86 pp. (last bl.). + 4 un-numbered ll. folio. 361/2 × 24 cm. Original calf binding: both leather ties wanting. Some margins frayed. Outside the upper cover is affixed a brass plaque (6 × 41/2 cm.) of the Madonna of Prague, and outside the lower cover a similar one of the Holy House of Loretto. The 4 unnumbered leaves are between p. 40 and p. 41, and contain an index.
