About this work

Description

Chapter X: "The Height of the Vector Rods in the Three-Dimensional Patterson of Haemoglobin".

The file comprises a reprinted paper (with pencil amendments for the typist): Crick, "The height of the vector rods in the three-dimensional Patterson of haemoglobin," Acta Crystallographica, 5: 3 (1952), 381-6.

The file also contains a 'Postscript' (holograph, pencil) in which Crick states: "When this chapter was sent to the typist I left it substantially as written (Crick 1952) nearly two years ago, as its main conclusion, that haemoglobin cannot consist entirely of straight, parallel, alpha-helices, is still true. On reflexion, I feel I should make one or two comments in the light of recent ideas...."
