About this work

Description

Postcard showing Guadalupe and Josefina Hinojosa, conjoined twins, linked at the chest and sharing a liver. They were separated in 1916 or 1917, the liver going to Josefina, meaning Guadalupe died soon afterwards. This postcard would probably have been sold as a souvenir at places where they were exhibited as part of a freak show.
