Segment 1 Sue, the mother-to-be, is seen walking to the doctor's. Her voiceover describes how advice to pregnant women often focuses on negatives aspects of pregnancy, rather than positive. She has a physical examination by a nurse. Sue and her husband attend an antenatal class. The class discusses breastfeeding. The class also discusses whether the fathers should attend the labour or not; the doctor says that it is up to the father to come and go to the delivery room as they please. She also says that there is no definite way that fathers should behave during labour, and tells of one couple where the father remained in the corner reading a book. The couples practice giving each other back rubs. Sue's husband is heard in voiceover talking about how he has been trying to help out. He is shown making coffee. Sue describes how he was helpful during morning sickness and how he cooked dinner during her pregnancy. She describes herself as 'very lucky' for having a husband who helps. Sue and her husband talk about practicing the relaxation exercises from the antenatal class. They practice the exercises in bed. Time start: 00:00:00:00 Time end: 00:08:30:21 Length: 00:08:30:21
