Segment 1 In the first half of the film, the fillet plaster is demonstrated on a young boy. It is used to treat tuberculosis in the spine. The patient is measured and plaster slabs are applied to his torso area. The intertitles detail the kind of slabs and where they will be placed, and an animated illustration also shows where they will be placed. The plaster slabs are attached to the patient and held in position. Eventually, the patient's head and torso are almost completely encased. He is suspended vertically from the ceiling. Time start: 00:00:00:00 Time end: 00:08:39:13 Length: 00:08:39:13
Segment 2 Next, the spica plaster method for treating tuberculosis in the hip joint is demonstrated on a young boy. A single layer of plaster is applied as a base for the plaster slabs. The plaster is reinforced at the hip. The patient is suspended above a table horizontally. An animated illustration shows where the plaster slabs will be applied. A strut is used to strengthen the plaster. The patient is seen lying on a drying frame. Time start: 00:08:39:13 Time end: 00:15:44:18 Length: 00:07:05:05
