Segment 1 The horse is prepared for surgery. It is pulled onto its side, injected with adrenalin, its neck shaved and iodine applied. The tongue is tied to the lower jaw. Chloroform is administered. Segment 3 The vocal cords are pressed aside. The complete ventricular sac is shown after removal. The intertitles note that it looks like 'a glove finger'. The chloroform inhaler is removed.
