About this work

Description

Calendar blotter for March and April 1940 issued by Fairchild Brothers & Foster and their UK agents, Burroughs, Wellcome & Co. advertising 'Pepsencia', a "fluid 'pepsin' preparation ... [which] contains the entire soluble constituents, organic and inorganic of the stomach glands, all the various complex catalytic constituents... an entire gastric juice extract" promoted "as a vehicle to promote the toleration of drugs, and as a digestant". This would have been one of a series of blotters sent out to members of the medical profession every 2 months. The blotters have a small line illustration above the calendar grid of something relating to that time of year or something in a themed series. In this case Lancaster Town Hall. Printed in red and black.
