She has a child sitting on her right shoulder. Ayer's Sarsaparilla was supposed to cure scrofula and all mercurial and blood disorders, lassitude and debility - and presumably anaemia. It was made from sarsaparilla root, mandrake, yellow dock, iodide of potassium and iron.
