About this work

Description

Postcard (probably from the early 1920s) showing Mrs. Mite sitting with a baby on her lap, Major Mite standing next to her. A table with a small vase of flowers is behind them. At least 5 men went by the name of Major Mite. This is not Clarence Chesterfield Howerton who played a munchkin in the Wizard of Oz. The card would probably have been sold as a souvenir at places where they were exhibited as part of a freak or variety show.
