Originally American, set up in Liverpool in 1997, the company distributed booklets containing menus from local restaurants around the country, offering food delivery within 30 minutes at standard restaurant price, plus a £4 flat delivery fee. Customers could call a local telephone number to place their order, and Restaurant Express did the rest.
