Description

A surgeon letting blood from a woman's arm. Watching are a number of strange figures, including on the right a man with a wooden leg and a midget or child. On the left is the surgeon's apprentice holding the bowl for blood. On the left wall is a coat of arms which bears the date 1665 and the initials JA, surmounted by the coat of arms of the London Barber-Surgeons' Company
