The average attack and death-rates for the last six quin-queunial periods were as follows:—

Two hundred and one, or 87.3 per cent, of the patients
were treated at the Isolation Hospital.
Sixty-four per cent, of the cases notified were children
of school age, five to fifteen years, and of these 142 attended
the following schools:—

Diphtheria.—The total number of cases notified during
the year was 123 from 97 houses, as against 86 and 111 for
1919 and 1918 respectively. The attack-rate was 1.9 per
thousand of the population.
There were twelve deaths, corresponding to a death-rate
of .19 per thousand of the population.
In two houses there were 4 cases, in three houses 3, in
fourteen houses 2, and in the remainder 1 each.
