Anthrax.—No cases were notified during the year.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum.—Six cases occurred during the
year, one of which was treated at the Isolation Hospital. The
other five were visited by the Health Visitors. They were all
under treatment by medical practitioners in the district and
in no case was the vision impaired.
Encephalitis Lethargica.—One case was notified during
the year, equal to an attack-rate of .01 per thousand of the
population.
There was one death, corresponding to a death-rate of 01
per thousand of the population.
Malaria.—Twelve notifications were received during the
year, which is equal to an attack-rate of .19 per thousand of
the population.
Dysentery.—No notifications were received during the
year.
Meningitis.—No notifications were received during the
year.
Poliomyelitis.—One case occurred during the year, corresponding
to an attack-rate of 01 per thousand of the population.
There was one death, corresponding to a death-rate of '01
per thousand of the population.
Cancer.—During the year 62 deaths have been registered
as due to the different forms of malignant disease or Cancer
(19 males, 43 females).
The death-rate for the year was '99, as against 1'3 last year
and 105 in 1918, the average for the past five years being 1'2.
