Cancer.
The deaths due to Cancer were 255, or 12 more than in the previous year. This
corresponds to a death rate of .95 per 1,000 of the population.
44 belonged to the Limehouse District, or at the rate of 86 per 1,000 of
the population.
35 belonged to St. George-in-the-East, or at the rate of .77 per 1,000 of the
population.
110 belonged to Mile End Old Town, or at the rate of 1.01 per 1,000 of the
population.
66 belonged to the Whitechapel District, or at the rate of 1.06 per 1,000 of
the population.
Inhabited House Duty.
Twelve applications were received for certificates under the Inland Revenue
Act, 1903. for the purpose of securing exemption from Inhabited House Duty.
The certificates granted related to 85 tenements.
One application was refused.
Verminous Persons.
583 men and 5 women were cleansed during the year and their clothing
disinfected.
